At first glance, Model United Nations may seem suitable for all students. However, the real answer depends on the conference format and learning approach. In fact, many MUN conferences still overlook differences in age, maturity, and learning stages.
This issue matters because MUN focuses not only on outcomes but also on learning processes. For this reason, beginner students need a supportive environment to develop critical thinking, diplomacy, and public speaking step by step. When students feel the competition is fair, they participate more actively. As a result, they gain confidence and learn without unnecessary pressure.
However, many conferences place students of very different ages in the same councils. In this situation, younger or less experienced participants often struggle to keep up. Consequently, Model United Nations shifts away from learning and turns into a comparison of experience levels rather than skills development.

To address this issue, Global Millennial MUN Jakarta 2026 applies an age-based competition system. Instead of competing across extreme age gaps, participants join councils that match their development stage. Specifically, the conference offers two clear levels. The Junior Level supports participants under 15 years old. Meanwhile, the Senior Level serves students aged 15 to 20 years old. Through this structure, Model United Nations becomes a safe and effective learning space.
Therefore, the key question should not be “Is Model United Nations for every student?” Rather, it should ask whether students receive the right space to learn MUN fairly. In this context, Global Millennial MUN Jakarta 2026 provides a clear answer. For students who want to begin or strengthen their Model United Nations journey, this opportunity deserves serious consideration.
Global Millennial MUN Jakarta 2026 takes place on 12–14 June 2026 at Mercure Convention Center Ancol, Jakarta. Registration opens from 1–31 December 2025.
