Inspired to Take the First Step
Ayudia’s interest in Model United Nations began after seeing one of her seniors participate in a conference. Watching someone she admired succeed inspired her to challenge herself and experience MUN firsthand.
Her first achievement gave her confidence, but she believes her greatest lesson came after experiencing her first defeat. Rather than letting disappointment discourage her, she used it as motivation to improve.
That determination became the driving force behind her preparation for GM MUN 21st, where she entered the conference with one clear goal to become a stronger delegate than ever before.
Building Alliances That Made the Difference
Representing her assigned country during committee sessions, Ayudia quickly realized that success in MUN is not achieved alone.
One of the most memorable parts of her conference experience was building a strong bloc with delegates who shared similar ideas. She took part in countless discussions and late-night drafting sessions. She also prepared for the General Speakers’ List (GSL) and fast-paced unmoderated caucuses. These experiences taught her that collaboration was just as important as individual performance.
Although receiving the Best Delegate award was an unforgettable moment, Ayudia believes the friendships and connections she built throughout the conference were equally meaningful.
Working alongside teammates who constantly challenged each other to improve helped her grow not only as a delegate but also as a communicator and leader.
Learning to Think Like a Strategist
Behind Ayudia’s success was months of preparation with Globy. She credits Coach Haidir and the coaching team for transforming the way she approached Model United Nations. One lesson stood out above all others: learning to step back and analyze the committee from a broader perspective.
Instead of focusing only on speeches, she learned to observe the flow of debate. She studied the dynamics of the room and looked for strategic opportunities that others might overlook.
Her coaches also reminded her to enjoy the conference and remain authentic. Rather than trying to imitate other delegates, they encouraged her to trust her own strengths and personality advice that helped her perform confidently throughout the committee sessions.
The Moment She Heard Her Name
When the awards ceremony began, Ayudia was convinced that she had missed her chance. After her name was not announced during the Honorable Mention category, she believed the conference had ended without an award. At that moment, she thought Honorable Mention was the highest recognition she could realistically achieve.
Then came the unexpected announcement. Her name was called as the Best Delegate. The surprise quickly turned into excitement as she realized that all the preparation, hard work, and perseverance had led to one of the biggest achievements of her MUN journey.
Looking Toward the International Stage
Winning Best Delegate has only motivated Ayudia to dream even bigger. Her next goal is to compete in more international Model United Nations conferences, earn awards on the global stage, and hopefully achieve something even more ambitious, a double award in a future conference.
With her determination, strategic mindset, and passion for diplomacy, she is ready to continue pushing her limits and embracing every opportunity that comes her way.
